Run Every Last One of Your Errands at UBC Point Grey

March 23, 2023

Sometimes it feels like being an adult is just running errands. There’s always something to be done, whether it be a letter to mail, an appointment to attend, a fridge to stock, a gift to buy, or a lunch meeting to plan. And sometimes it can be difficult to do all those things in one area, causing you to need to run all over town, find and pay for parking if it’s not walkable, and cram everything in the time you have available!

The good news is when you’re at UBC Point Grey, you can run all your errands in one go, and still have some time left over for leisure to enjoy the beautiful surroundings! The amenities are endless in this area, and in this article, we’ll outline some of the ways in which you can tick every last one of those boxes on your list.

Getting around UBC Point Grey

First thing’s first — what’s the best way to get around UBC Point Grey? And if you’re driving, where’s the best place to park?

It’s easy to get around UBC Point Grey if you know your options. There are lots of amenities in Wesbrook Village that are within a few minutes walking distance from each other, and if you’re heading north to University Boulevard, it’s about a 20-minute walk. On a warm and sunny day, that isn’t so bad!

If you want to get around on two wheels, there are lots of bike routes and lock-up areas. There’s also HOPR, a bike share program that allows you to find a bike to use for short trips using their app.

UBC has many transit options too, if you’re standing on a main road you’ll more than likely see a bus in less than 5 minutes! Check out Translink’s Trip Planner to determine your exact route with bus times.

If you’re driving, many of your errands can be run in Wesbrook Village which offers free 1- & 2-hour street parking, as well as an underground parkade with the first two hours free. If you’re unsure about parking, UBC has its own website where you can find parking maps, rates, and capacity status. Car share is available with designated spots peppered around campus, as well as charging stations for EV.
